The first step is getting teens to be active for 60 minutes every day and encourages families to do it together.


It is a semester-long, paid internship for high school students in the Denver area.

Ambassadors are a diverse group of teens representing a multitude of experiences.

With hands-on workshops taught by regional scholars, the project will nurture a sense of place and a sense of history that form the roots of strong self-identity.

Themes for the ten-week program will include possibilities, legacy, story, tradition, resources, and history.

Classes will run from 2 to 5 pm on Friday afternoons from February 23 to March 4 at El Pueblo History Museum and the Rawlings Library.

Bridging Borders Teen Girl Fellowship was started in 2014 with the belief that teens who know where they come from also have a better idea for where they are going.

The project was launched with a grant from the American Association of University Women.
